コペンハーゲンで開催されたデザインイベント Other Circle におけるNyChiarXのブースデザイン。

ニーチェアXの背景にある、日本的な住環境や感覚。
限られた空間の中で、軽やかに持ち運べ、必要十分に機能し、どこに置いても静かに馴染むこと。
その成り立ちを、構成要素だけで簡素に伝える展示装置を考えた。

フレームは細い鉄パイプのみで構成し、空間に輪郭だけを残す。
そこに掛かる布は、帆布の持つ素朴な質感を引き継ぎながら、日本の「のれん」から着想を得た垂れの構成として展開。
仕切るためではなく、光や空気、人の気配の“間”をつくる存在として扱っている。

垂れ下がる布は、家具と建築の中間にあるような曖昧なスケールを生み、
ニーチェアXの持つ、簡潔で美しい機能性を感覚的に浮かび上がらせる。
置く場所を選ばないという思想を、空間そのものの軽やかさへと翻訳した。

3daysofdesign と同時期に開催されるOther Circleの中で、プロダクトの背景にある思想と素材の魅力を静かに伝える場を目指した。

The Japanese living environment and sensibilities that form the backdrop of NyChiarX.
Within a limited space, it should be easy to move around, provide all necessary functionality, and blend quietly into any setting.
I conceived an exhibition display that simply conveys this concept using only its constituent elements.

The frame consists solely of thin steel pipes, leaving only its outline in the space.
The fabric draped over it retains the rustic texture of canvas while taking the form of a hanging arrangement inspired by the Japanese “noren.”
It is treated not as a partition, but as an element that creates “ma”—the space between light, air, and the presence of people.

The hanging fabric creates an ambiguous scale that lies somewhere between furniture and architecture,
intuitively highlighting the concise and beautiful functionality of the Knee Chair X.
The philosophy that it can be placed anywhere has been translated into the lightness of the space itself.

As part of “Other Circle,” held concurrently with “3daysofdesign,” we aim to create a space that quietly conveys the philosophy behind the product and the appeal of its materials.
